The Parish Council has had a great response to our request for volunteers for this year-round event.
Are you one of our community’s ‘silent’ volunteers – helping to keep the banks of the Jubilee River and The Thames Towpath rubbish free on your daily stroll or dog walk?
Following a request from a resident, Dorney Parish Council has sourced a number of grabbers and heavy-duty bags which are available to those who would like them. We are also upgrading the quality of the grabbers as they, unfortunately, do need to be more robust than the original ones. We will, of course, distribute the new ones to those who have the original version!
It’s a great sadness that so many who enjoy this wonderful environment don’t take their rubbish home.
We have made a request to the Environment Agency to place signage reminding people to do this. This is taking a little time.
If you would like to join the volunteers clearing the leftovers of other’s pleasure along stretches of the Jubilee River or The Thames Towpath, please contact Jill Dax (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like me to drop you a grabber and some heavy duty bags.
Your help is very much appreciated.
